O dark, dark, amid this blaze of noon!

Hullo, world - it's me, Chaz. Are you there...?

*taps screen suspiciously*

My cable is frazzled; I have no internets. I went offline on Wednesday morning, and won't be back until Friday at the earliest.

This ... does not fill my heart with joy. Although I am getting lots of work done; I keep heading for the computer by instinct and long training, and then finding nothing to do there but write.

I can no longer remember how I used to fill the desperate hours, before the internets.

Nor, of course, how I used to stay in touch with people. I will be snatching occasional hours on other people's computers, to check my webmail; but if you need to speak to me urgently, or if I need to know that you're after me, then the phone is currently the only reliable means. Aaargh. (Something there is that does not love a phone; yes, that something would be me.)

'Til whenever, this is me signing off...

We are still here. Waiting for your return. Sometimes I wish my internet would go away for a few hours a day, so I could avoid the seduction of checking my email (to see if anyone loves me) or asking just one more question of Google (because there's always one more damned question).
