This may be self-indulgent, but.
You will allow me to point out how utterly chuffed I am, that m'friend Aliette de Bodard is on the Nebula shortlist with her novelette The Jaguar House, in Shadow. I could only be more pleased if I'd been on there myself: which, bizarrely, I am somehow not. Again.

In other news, here's something else I am rather more bizarrely pleased with: today's darling. Well, darling-so-far. I do seem still to be working. But:
“Sister Carter,” he said, with a smile that was not yet longsuffering but could clearly turn that way, should the occasion demand,
I just like that, y'know? It's ... temperate. Considering. Entirely appropriate, and just a little light-hearted.
