So. Farewell then, batterie de cuisine...
Rust: it is a lovely thing, but not necessarily in kitchen utensils.
A while ago - a number of years ago - I thought I should make resolutions, a trinity of them: every day to clean something, to sort something, to throw something out. That way I thought I might make inroads into the chaos that is my house, that is my life. I thought that I might write out these resolutions and post them on the door, where I would see them every time I tried to leave the house: that that might serve as a goad to stay in and do something useful, rather than indulging myself in perennial absence.
It's never going to happen, of course, neither the posting nor the observation of the Rule of Three; but every now and then I do something - like, f'rexample, rummaging in the back of a cupboard and decided that I really don't need to keep these rusty things - that reminds me, that makes me feel that I have briefly achieved something with my day.

That's such a good idea! Though I feel like I wouldn't be hugely successful w/sticking w/that... I like the thought, anyway. Somehow even though we just moved here & thus have relatively little in the way of possessions we still have a messy house!

And yes, it is a good idea. But by definition you need to be the kind of person who can do that kind of thing reliably, day after day after day; and if I were that kind of person I would have a sense of organisation already, and would never have let the house get into this mess in the first place. Sigh...

Sorry, but if you haven't changed by L then it would appear you're stuck with it!

Also, of course, a very much younger man. *sighs*

Thus implying that you would have an additional young man...

Actually, I was meaning to refer to my favourite line from Sir Terry: "Inside every old man is a young man wondering what the hell happened."
