Tuesday round-up

Okay, so the race is over, won and won. But won and won makes too, and I do too have to write another book, even if there's no one to go head-to-head with; so (in a slightly complicated count, because it includes a little bit of Other Stuff and also those pages I dumped, on the grounds that I did at least write them, and I may yet get to salvage something from them) here is the last week's work-count, because I'm used to this slightly curious midday-on-Tuesday declaration meme now, and I rather like it:

Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter
7,113 / 150,000
(4.7%)

or in pages:

Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter
24 / 450
(5.3%)

plus the seven pages/1740 words-from-elsewhere gives us a grand total of thirty-one pages for the week, and 8853 words. Which given that I had two days off and had to start a whole new book, it ain't bad. So long as we can buckle down to the serious stuff for a week or two, to get this proposal off before Xmas. Except that I know what'll happen, my agents'll quibble, they'll want changes, and then they'll say "Chaz, there's absolutely no point sending it out before the new year, nobody does anything in December..."

What the hell, because I'm missing the Tuesday tot-up as well:

This is for The Janus House and Other Stories, a novella and, at the moment, nine short stories, which is to be published by <http://www.immanion-press.com/>Immanion Press, who brought out Hinterland. It's due out in April and I need to finish by the end of the year. I've got 31,207 words of the titular novella done, which will wrap up at about 50K. The short stories are mostly done, apart from one which needs finishing and one which needs writing from scratch, and I might have to chuck something else together to make up the wordage.

So, while not a race, strictly speaking, mind if we continue the Tuesday fun?

Mind? Mind? I'll be delighted. Tot-up Tuesday it is, and ever shall be. Keeps us on our toes. (Tho' it strikes me suddenly, I've never had a truly bad week to report yet. Wait till the blues hits me, till I've done nothing all week, see how keen I am then...)
