Well, that was interesting. Three days out of the game: for when my sleep centre shuts down, so does everything. The work goes away, pain builds up like silt in all my joints, my digestive system slams into stasis, ect ect. Yesterday was ... well. Awful. [When did anyone last use "aw(e)ful" to mean "full of awe", in a good way? Not recently, I am thinking...]
Still. One night's sleep - six whole hours! - and I can start to put things back together. Rebooting. Apples and soup and live yoghurt to supplement the pain meds. And either the weather has got a lot warmer overnight, or I am just fundamentally better, because yesterday I could do nothing but shiver over the gas fire and read Gibson*, but today I am not cold and I can actually think about working again, which is just as well really. Three whole lost days...
*I do believe I have found an inconsistency: a camera card which either does or doesn't exist, depending. His editor used to be my editor; I may just drop her an e-mail, because if I'm right it could be fixed for the paperback, at least...
