I am told I am allowed to say this now, so I'm going to.
Some years ago I wrote a long novella (or technically a short novel, if you go by the ridiculously out-dated categories imposed on us by award-mongers; but what I say is that if it has the structures and rhythms and purposes of a novella, then a novella it is, regardless; see also ducks), which nearly won me a new career as a literary novelist, but not quite. It went hither and yon, but never found a home that I was happy with.
Recently m'friend Shannon Page (
calendula_witch of this parish) has taken on a role as acquiring editor at Per Aspera Press. in addition to everything else that she does; and Being Small is the first manuscript that she's acquired. So I'm happy about that, and I am hopeful that she is too.
More details as and when, but it'll be a while. You know how these things go.
