...at the cost of one minor head-wound, where a small dragon suicidally plunged down on me. People who live as chaotically as I do should not have hard or breakable dragons in the house; soft toys only ought to be the rule. Or else soft beanbag skulls, for the dragons to plunge onto.

But the last shelving-unit is up and in place, after a deal of swearing and confirming one more time that these were not designed for one person to put together. It can be done, but it's difficult.

Anyway, now I only have to slot the shelves in (not easy in itself, as I have cleverly marooned the shelves behind the sofa behind the books I took off the other shelving unit in order to move it a foot in order to build this one into that corner) and fill 'em all with books and videos.

And then, mirabile dictu, I might even think about throwing out the old home-made shelves that the videos were on before. Before the cats spilled 'em off, I mean. There is nothing wrong with these shelves, but they are small and pretty much redundant, at least until I acquire more books. And possibly more wallspace. And I dunno: ought one to keep shelves against a future need, or is that just too anal?

Also, it's coming up lunchtime and my delivery hasn't arrived yet. Sigh.

I'm afraid you're right. They can't go into the attic, though, because - although it is empty, and (now) waterproof - the access hatch is too small to pass 'em through. Unless I disassemble them, I suppose. Or demolish, rather, as they are wood & carpentry and not meant for taking apart.
