Does any other cat like to eat tea-leaves straight out of the strainer, or is it just - well, you know who it is...

In other great questions of our time, would it be okay if I abandoned all known goals, projects and promises, and just devoted myself to sandwiches and DVDs from now till the end of my brief and bitter career?

Possibly your cat is unique among felines. Possibly.

Cats being as they are, however, I suspect at least one other is equally weird.

No? But you might try it for a day or two and see how bored you got? :P

No. And no.

Keep on failing, man - and do it better, this time.

I'll add my voice to the no's (for the second one - I'm sure you actually know the answer to the first) with a resounding 'Hell no!'

We wants new Chazzy Buk Stuf and we wants it now! (What has it got in it's pocketses?)

It's the Chinese vibe getting to him.
And no, no giving up. We want the next book!
(Which DVDs, as a matter of interest? Am wondering if you've found the Swordsman series yet.)

Nope, no Swordsman series: tell me about the Swordsman series?

(As it happens, the lunchtime lament was much more basic British: I had a ham sammich and an episode of Black Books, and I just wanted more of both.)

Swordsman 1, 2 and 3 are often considered the definitive wu xia films, (although there was some messing about with recasting for part 2 which the marquis and I don't care for -- basically the first film performed well but the leads were replaced with bigger names for part 2). Lots of sword fights, mystery, magic, evil eunuchs and gender confusion. And great costumes and sets. Amazon can supply 2 and 3 (1 hasn't been released over here): Yesasia have 1 (it may be easier to search there using the stars' names as there are many many films with 'swordsman' in the title. S1 stars Sam Hui and Cecilia Yip). And we can, of course, lend copies.
