At least today Daniel (that's m'good friend
moshui, for anyone who's new around these parts) has some unambiguously good news, to set against all the equivocations of yesterday (and, hell, I've been in this business thirty-some years and I'm equivocal about yesterday; imagine how he feels, his first book out and none of his friends can buy it...).
Those of you in the States (for yes, all the good stuff happens on your side): Dragon in Chains has been picked up by the Science Fiction Book Club, for their April catalogue. As Dan's editor said, huzzah!
To which of course I said huzzah with three times three! But that's only because I've been reading too much Patrick O'Brian. If there is such a thing, which actually there isn't.
Back to work. I'm on page 93, and determined at least to make 100 before I quit for the night. Lord, this is a slog. It's a good slog, but, y'know. Sloggy.
