Tired now.
I turned off a film I like, and came upstairs to do more workings. I have working'd more, all the way to the end of Part Five. Only Part Six - A Dragon in the Wind - to go now.
So, yup. About ninety pages left to pick through, and I've already cut 25K, which is lots more than I thought; I may actually be delivering a novel more or less at its contractual length. Which is more or less a first. Depends how much we take out of this last tranche, of course. But maybe that's why it's been going so slowly, because I was doing more work than I realised, certainly more than I would usually do at this stage?
Tired, though. And fed up. And want my computer back. I have photos! I have Portrait of a Cat in his Absence to show you! And I can't, because the card-reader is in the main computer. And while, yes, there is software and a cable to download direct from the camera, I have no idea where they are, because we do not do that, because it is Windows and we are not. Sometimes I suffer for my purity. (And yes, actually I do have Windows dual-booted on this machine, but I don't, y'know, actually use it. No. Not even for the sake of showing you a Cat in his Absence. Possess your souls in patience. It won't be too long now; sooner or later I must burst, or buy a new machine...)
