Allegedly, the plumber will be with me by 11.00am tomorrow morning. Allegedly.
There's a slim possibility that he might yet come today, if he finishes his current job early. It would make sense, as he's somewhere in this area already. So: I am staying in. Again, oh joy, tra-la.
Thing is, though, I don't know what time is knocking-off time for plumbers; I don't know when I can reasonably reckon that he's not coming tonight and I can go out to frolic. Five o'clock, six o'clock? I don't know, and I really don't want to miss him if he comes. 'Specially as I regard that eleven-o'clock-tomorrow notion with deep scepticism.
In other news, what do people think about showers: is it better to have an electric shower that heats its water separately on demand, or one that's plumbed into the general supply? Given that I'm heating a tankful of water anyway, and never using it all in the morning...?
