Indeed, this guy is so confident of it that he's approaching writers by the score, maybe by the hundred.
Amusingly, we do actually talk to each other: even to the point of comparing offers. That Amazon gift voucher he's offering? For some of us it's up to a hundred bucks. We are not quite sure of his criteria, but clearly I am in a lesser tranche; I got my offer later than most, and I'm only worth fifteen dollars of his bounty. Tho' he does say he'll buy me a coffee if I'm ever in foggy San Francisco.
I've no idea if anyone's actually taken him up on it, mentioned his site and watched their inbox in hope or expectation. No one's admitted to it, at least. (The site is actually respectable, so the offer may indeed be entirely genuine. It's just so egregiously ham-fisted, it looks like spam even if it isn't.)
EtA: *giggles* Now they've really blown it, if they were hoping to look at all respectable. People who were originally offered the $100 (and didn't take them up on it)? Have just been included in this second tranche, at $15. Levels of outrage are high. Combustibility is.
