I dunno, I turn my back for a moment* and my whole damn country goes insane. Apparently they want another five years of government to, for, by, with and from a pack of mendacious self-serving millionaires. I'll be staying here, thanks**.

I am growing increasingly depressed with every result that comes in, and have been driven to the expedient of ordering black walnut chopsticks from Etsy, because I had to cheer myself up somehow. I used to have a lovely pair of chopsticks that I picked up in Taipei, but that appears not to have made the transition with me. And it's been oddly hard to find square-tipped Chinese chopsticks; the preference here seems to be for the tapering Japanese style, which I confess I do not love.


*Okay, three years.

**Yes, I know. It's ironic. My irony was drawn from the American political system. Which apparently the Brits have decided to emulate, God save us all.

I'm feeling depressed this morning - the last five years have been incredibly hard on the ground, and I have a roof over my head and enough food in the larder and don't need services beyond the occasional GP visit; but for people more vulnerable than me, it's been very, very tough.

And now, unless a miracle happens, we're in for five more years of this. I do not understand how anyone can look at a million foodbank users and vote for more of it.
