desperanceIt's the second week of June, and it's been raining most of the day. Not hard, but that kind of steady soaking rain that the garden really welcomes. It's making the downpipes ping and mutter.
Apparently this is a by-blow of Tropical Storm Bianca, down there in Baja California (which I had never heard of until I read Stranger in a Strange Land, but that's typical: my geography is weak, my SF strong). So yay Bianca.
Apparently, though, life in drought has made me wimpid. That's kind of like limpid, but less alluring - so actually nothing like limpid at all. I must imagine the rain will melt me away in water-drops or something; I haven't been out of the house all day. Just sitting here typing up a copy-edit. With a sore little finger that I suspect of being a mousing injury, because I don't generally mouse much but for a copy-edit I have to. I love TextMaker with a passion, but there is no keyboard shortcut to open a comment box. I have to mouse up to the function bar and click, before I can type what I have to say. Over and over again. It's infuriating. (I dunno: does MS Word have a shortcut for making comments? If so, I might point those nice SoftMaker people at it and say "See? This!")
