In which nobody understands me

I've already posted the interview that refers to me as 'charismatic'. Snortle.

The day after, I had an e-mail that called me 'cheery'. Yeah, right.

Today? Today I had a spam from one of those New Age inspirational writerly types. It says this:

"I was seeking new dimensions of thought and creativity on the web when
i came upon your vibrantly refreshing garden of personal reflection. I
enjoyed your soul woven tapestry of the self. Your pages pulsate with
vitality and inner light. I found your personal landscape to be a
breath of fresh air that is both delightful and memorable. I wish you a
journey where you celebrate the gift of creation as you promote harmony
and joy."

In a pig's ass, frankly.

On the subject of spam. I totally forgot with this mornings Doctor shenanigans but I received an email offering to increase the size of my genitalia this morning. Why should this interest you?

LOL! Hey, I wish I could get spam like that. Mine all say stuff like, 'Hello, I am looking the internet a good sites I like a read you site.'

Kind of brings to mind the whole issue of a possible employment writing higher-quality spam...

Last time I was in the Far East, I invented my perfect job: English-language consultant to hotels, restaurants and any other business that puts up notices for the public. The British Council had put me in a posh hotel in Seoul, and there was a safety sign in the lift that I genuinely couldn't understand, it was so garbled; and then the fire safety instructions in my room the same (I had a rope ladder! From the fourth floor! Which was not long enough by a distance to reach the ground, so God alone knew what I was supposed to do with it, because the sign certainly wasn't telling me...); and I just wanted them to pay me a little money for good English versions. And then I could go next door to the restaurant and sort out their menu for them, and so on down the street, and it would be a living, and I would be an exotic ex-pat, and I'd love that...
