Windows' impertinence...
Feb. 24th, 2008 04:29 pmI'm sorry, did I ask Vista to upgrade itself on my laptop?
No. No, that's right, I did not.
It's just done it anyway (with a great deal of fuss, and two reboots). Must've downloaded the upgrades from Jean & Roger's wi-fi, I guess. Without my consent. I do not like this. No, I don't.
But yes: I have been down south, in Durham, staying overnight with
shewhomust and
durham_rambler, in company with David-the-(as far as I'm aware)-LJless.

I took all Tony's recording apparatus (including the collapsible mike stand, which doesn't collapse too far at all, and had to stick wildly out of my backpack and undid the zip without my noticing and might have caused loss-of-bear or other calamity, but fortunately didn't) and rose earlier than the household this morning, snuck up to the attic room and re-recorded "Terminal". No traffic, no cats, no hatred. Don't know what it sounded like; don't even know if it actually did record, because I have not essayed a playback (largely because if I fucked up I do not want to know; I am not repeat not doing this again), but I didn't hate the story this time through and got to the end largely unruffled. We'll see.
And then we committed crossword (ah, Araucaria - what a falling-off is there!), and then I came home. And am largely committing idleness today. Working is just too much trouble.
