Can't tell you anything about this story, except that it is done (at a remarkably round 7000 words exactly), because it ties in to my next novel and is therefore Heavily Pseudonymous and I am not allowed to be more forthcoming at this time. But I have a market to submit to, which is nice.
Also, the really good thing about finishing a story? It's not just the one thing done, inventory: it's a reminder that this thing is possible, that beginnings can be picked up and completed, they don't have to be written off as wasted effort. If this one, then surely that other, and the other after that...? The stories are all there, after all, they only need writing, and that is in fact what I do.
When I have the time. I do actually have this novel that I kind of need to be getting on with. But still, I am encouraged; some of the other things I started (Skander! Iskandriya!) may yet get finished too.
Oh, and I have also a draft! of my application for the Edinburgh/Melbourne trip, thanks in no small measure to
