Ah, the inappropriate/ironic subject line: a classic. In truth, of course, Bagsies are all about claiming possession, and here I am giving things away. In bags.
Every day this week, I've brought a bag of books in to the Lit & Phil, for their annual fundraising sale. It feels like peeling away shreds of my skin, and it's been a literal weight on my shoulders, because a bagful a day is not negligible - except that you'd hardly know I'd done it, because it's hardly made a dent in a single bookcase back at home. I'm going to have to up, as they say, my game. In the end I'll probably need a friend with a car, because a bag a day isn't going to cut it (the sale is late November, but I'm in California for three weeks between now and then). Only first I'll have to up my rate of cullage. A dozen, maybe twenty a day? Is not enough.
Also, I'm going to have to keep away from the sale when it happens. Partly because the last thing I should be doing is buying books, but mostly because - well, they're my books. "No! You put that down, that's my book! You can't have that, it's mine! Mine to me! They're my books, they're all my boooooks...!!!"
Sometimes I just feel like a lolcat. No can haz.
