Someone is wrong on the internet. Again.

How long, O lord, how long? How many times must I click on a recipe for Puy lentils, and take one look at the accompanying photograph, and find myself shrieking "Those are not Puy lentils! Those are regular green lentils, or split peas, or any other lentilkind but Puy...!"

It is insanely frustrating. Is there an organised conspiracy out there, are unscrupulous people selling regular lentils to the ignorant under the moniker of Puy? Or do people just think that one lentil is any lentil, and "Puy" is a handy nom-de-guerre for all? It is incredibly frustrating. I did once comment on a recipe, pointing out that her lentils were certainly not Puy; I got a storm of abuse in return - they were too Puy, she should know, she cooked them and took the photographs and everything! - and no matter how much I wanted to respond with photos of my own - these are Puy and these are green lentils and can you see the difference, can you, huh? - I did of course do no such thing, I just stepped away and left her in her folly. But oh, I was annoyed. And I am still annoyed, and nothing gets any better. People go on being wrong. On and on, and I don't understand it...
