I was awakened at 2AM today by a spokescat who explained to me, with considerable determination, that I had failed to provide the bedtime snack the special interest group he represented receive occasionally. My efforts to explain that they got it sometimes but not every night was met with an obstinacy any veteran labor negotiator would admire. When I tossed him out into the hall, his clients were all on hand, ready to stage at the very least a sit-in.

I hope they don't find out that some cats get freshly-fried whitebait.
