Seriously, I really wish I had two men's appetites, and time for twice the meals. I can't eat enough to keep up with my own cooking.

I had Helen round mid-week, and made curry. Curries. I am still eating leftover curries. Meanwhile, the cauliflower that I had planned to make a cauliflower-and-mac cheese with is still sitting, waiting; but I had to go to the supermarket today, and there was all this oxtail going cheap, and I do love to cook oxtail...

So there is oxtail in the oven, very slowly stewing with onions and carrots and fennel and juniper berries and rosemary and thyme and bay and red wine, and I shall have somehow to eat that in the next few days. With buttered cabbage, I think, and celeriac-and-potato mash. But I have a new wok, and I really wanted to be using that; and...

You see my dilemma. What is a man to do...?

You need a boyfriend. Or possibly three. Or a plethora of housemates. *Something*. :)

The oxtail goes in the freezer, along with several individual portions of the curry.

find a local elderly person in your area who can't get out or cook much and SHARE - this way you use up your stuff faster and can eat more diversely...

Wrong side of the country, alas: I only flourish in an easterly direction.

Um. Would that mean I had to talk to them? Or could I just post food through the door and run away?

So get another freezer...

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] timill. We got an extra freezer to hold the delicious things we couldn't help making but couldn't quite eat up.

That probably depends on how bad your cooking is...

Looking around, I think there are a lot of men who would do well to lend you their appetites for a while.

It is at times like this that a man should turn to his friends - who have fortunately just returned from holiday...
