Dressing off, stitches out. Yay.
I have a huge scabbiness on the first joint of the thumb, where they let the wound heal open for better drainage. There's also a second cut on my wrist (because they literally run water through the tendon sheath, in and out), which was so neatly sewn together I don't think it's going to scar at all (plastic surgeons, after all...), but at the moment there's lots of swelling and internal scar tissue. I am instructed to hurt both sites a lot and then rub them better (well, she actually said exercise and massage, but you get the picture).
There's still some swelling in the thumb and Lots Of Pain in the tendon, and she suggested that I not work till Monday. Urgh.
Happily I'm away tomorrow & Saturday (going down to stay overnight with
jemck and her menfolk, before we run a workshop in Wokingham on Saturday morning). If I am strong-minded, I will try to leave the Laptop of Heavenly Perfection behind, which would stymie me till Sunday.
On the other hand, I do so like working on trains...
