Now and then Dault bites me. I think he becomes over-stimulated. Or he wants to play. He almost never breaks the skin.

Barry used to bite me lots; then Mac moved in, and now he's taken over biting-duties. It is, absolutely, play: they are little predators, and teeth-and-claws wrestling is their Best Game Ever - but no, they have never ever broken my skin. Quite how they do that when they're biting hard enough to hurt, I'm not clear, but they do. Which is how I know it's just play; those teeth are very sharp, and they are after all little predators who depend on tearing through flesh and skin and bone in real life...

Unfortunately, they're not quite so good with the claws. I carry scratches as a regular event. I used to carry Sophie-cat around on my shoulders, because she jumped up there; I was having lots of physio at the time, and my therapist was very impressed with the quality and depth of my scarring.
