I really ought to post a pic of Barry in his helpfulness. He is not stealing olives, no; he is helping.

I have a print-out of the new novel, and I am reading through it and scribbling thereupon. Or endeavouring to do so.

All my camera batteries are flat, but never mind. I will allow you to imagine, in what way his bulky lordship is helping me, in all his black furry untransparentness.

At least you have no muddy bottoms to contend with. It is, let me tell you, highly embarrassing explaining to a student that, yes, that *is* mud on their essay, and that, well, your cat sat in a puddle then came in and decided to help with the marking. Plus Mooncat, as a kitten, would insist on chewing the edges of any paper she came across. And clawing it, too, if possible. It ought to be a selling point in future, though -- hand-annotated MS complete with cat-hair.
