Apparently a man can be wrong even about his own process, even after thirty-some years.
I didn't actually need to be out walking, I only needed to be doing something else: in this instance, putting chilli-baked-beans-with-shredded-smoked-pork into containers for the freezer.
I found my line.
Old age is all about loss, measurements of loss; he knew that, he had seen it in his grandfather, in his father, in himself.
But Old Yen had lost his boat, and that was immeasurable.
Now we're rollin'.
