Breakable, apparently
Nov. 18th, 2009 12:16 pmMost of the time, I really kinda like my house, mess though it be. I really like my neighbourhood; it's a bit rough, maybe, but it feels like the right place for me to be, y'know?
Then some fucker breaks my window for me, and suddenly I go to pieces. Apparently.
A broken window is hardly the worst thing in the world, and it is going to happen every now and then around here (tho' I did think that double glazing was supposed to be resistant to casual stone-throwing, just by the physics of the thing?). I know all that, and even so: I feel utterly vulnerable and upset, stupidly distressed, wishing I could afford to move. Like that.
Of course, I can't afford to fix the window either. Urgh.
Oh, and I learn that no, there won't be a mass-market paperback edition of
moshui's Dragon in Chains. The current trade paperback is it, so if you want it, grab it while it's there.
And in another fifty pages I'll be finished with the revisions on this book: which ought to be a gladness, but it means that by the end of the day I'll be contract-free, utterly finished.
Um. This? Not such a good day, actually.
