In other, more amusing news:
Jul. 2nd, 2010 12:36 pmMalcolm-the-joiner soaked the old joists in rot-destroying chemicals before he fitted the new flooring. This cocktail of hell has a sinus-destroying aroma all its own. In an attempt to clear the air before my brain melts, I have opened strategic windows.
The boys? Like open windows. They give access to Outside, which is a place that boys are most desirous of achieving. Alas for them: my evil windows have an anti-burglar setting where they can be locked only marginally open. That margin is Just Not Quite Enough for a wriggly cat to wriggle through. (We knows this, we duz. We haz tested it.)
The evil birdies in Outside also know this, and delight in tormenting trapped boys. Which is why my windows are very full of very frustrated cats, balanced on edges and trying to osmose through glass, all other approaches having failed.
When a bird flies by, Mac in particular gets really agitated. He makes that noise of a frustrated hunter, and lashes his tail. Which is a very long and agile organ, and as often as not is the only bit of him actually outside the window. Perhaps he thinks it's bait, to lure birdies...?
