New plu: same as the old plu

I walked home thinking about trauma, traumas, traumata. Thinking: bloody hell, why is the plural of trauma not traumata? Stigma, stigmata; stoma, stomata; trauma, traumata. Bloody ought to be...

And then of course I got home and looked it up, because this is What We Do, and, y'know? It is, or used to be.

I want it back, this word. I want all the world talking about traumata.
