Is this odd?

As I told thee afore, I have constructed a wifi network in my house. And because I have little faith in myself and less in cheap reconditioned kit, I thought I'd run a test, to see if it were desperately slow. And to give myself a benchmark, I tried the same test on the same laptop at the Lit & Phil first.

And I am finding the results odd, because they are telling me that here at home I have twice the download speed of the Lit & Phil's network, but half the upload speed.

Is that actually unusual and/or unlikely, or do different networks work like that, that they'd be good one way but not the other?
