Soup and sossidges
Nov. 24th, 2010 03:07 pmActually, today I am mostly stewing beef inside a pumpkin, by special request.
The recipe calls for a cup and a half of beef stock.
It's not actually possible sensibly to make a cup and a half of beef stock; cows are bigger than that. Even cut-up cows are bigger than that. So I'm making a gallon.
I have also baked a loaf. If the pumpkin collapses and the stew is revolting (very possible: I am following a slightly unusual recipe [and leaving out the sugar]), we can fall back on soup and a sammich. Yesterday's sossidges have been replaced.
In other news, I do actually get why any given distro of Linux is not going to fall over itself to make it easy to install any other distro, but I wish they'd get over that. I need to put the latest iteration of Fedora on a USB stick, and - lacking any other instance of Fedora to work from - it starts to look as though the easiest way to do it is through Windows. And you all know how I feel about Windows.
