Thinking ahead
Dec. 6th, 2010 11:37 amOkay. Yesterday I went to a party, poor me: purely and only (obviously!) in order to borrow spanners of various sorts from mine host.
Today I have been out shopping for ajwain and anardana and various other exotic needfuls. Also eggs.
I have left my big heavy snowboots on my feet.
I am currently running up the heating, in anticipation. I have spread clean clothes across radiators to warm.
In an hour or so, when the house is as hot as I can make it, I am going out into the back yard. Armed with spanners and a tap-washer. I am going to disintegrate the outside tap, change its washer and (hopefully) reintegrate it. While the water spurts all over me, in sub-zero temperatures.
This may not be smart, but it has to happen.
Then I will come indoors, towel off and change my sodden clothings, and eat curried prawns and mushrooms and spicy spicy scrambled eggs to warm me from the insides.
Wish me luck.
