desperanceWent to see 'The Prestige' this morning; and, well, yes. I confess to a brief period mid-film where I did feel somewhat tired by the effort of keeping all the nested flashbacks straight, just where we were in the timeline and what of all that we'd seen so far hadn't actually happened yet - and I did think that all authors everywhere had already been forced to stand and swear an oath never to use [cut out to avoid spoiler-damage] in any story ever anywhere at any time so help us God - but even so, yes. Enjoyed it very much.
And! Cat! Why has none of the reviews yet said, that it's all about the cat? A black cat, obviously. Black is best. Barry is bestest, but film-cat can be second best for now. He's very good. There are sparks! He yowls! And he is [cut out to avoid spoiler-damage]!
And then we had lunch, and I came home, and I've been vaguely hoping to work all evening since but it's all terribly vague. I've written a page, and that's it. I think that's it. I think stopping is next on the agenda. Perhaps I should've declared a day off, and spared myself the angst. But on the other hand, I have more or less figured out how the goodies shall defeat the stronger-than-they-are baddie, even if I haven't written much of it. That's all to the good. How much longer to the end of this book? A couple of days, perhaps. If I'm good.
