Well, that was a 'stonishing waste of time. Apart from the walking-in-the-air thing, which was good (it was sunny, and warmer than I thought - I wore shades and not a jacket, yay). The DIY store is, I dunno, mile and a half from here? Something on that order. Say half an hour's walk from here, give or take. And I went there and not only did they not have an external tap, except for a whole fit-a-tap-where-there-isn't-one kit, which included all kinds of stuff I do not need; they also didn't have my fallback position, which would be a tap-to-hose attachment for the extant tap, which does not have a screw thread (which is one reason why I want to replace it). Bah humbug.

So I thought "internets" and set off for home; and on the way I passed the local library and went in, and while inside I thought "Oh, I could order a copy of Desdaemona! As all good citizens ought!* Then it would be in the system, and other people could borrow it!" So I asked the nice young man, and he said, "I'm afraid that'll cost you 50p." I shrugged and said that would be fine, so he looked it up on his system and said, "I'm afraid we don't have any on order, so it would have to be an interlibrary loan, which will cost you another £2.50." At that point I shrugged and said never mind, at that rate I might as well buy the book.

In fact, what I will do is donate a copy, if they take donations. Then at least it'll be in the system, etc etc.

*Are you receiving this, good citizens? Go to your library and order same! For the benefit of others!!**

**But don't pay £2.50 for an interlibrary loan. That's not worth it, and we do not expect it of you.
