On the other hand, chicken livers and mushrooms, fried in butter and served on sourdough toast spread with chicken parfait. It is a wholly other meal, but I want them both.
I'm rather pleased with the parfait, given that (a) it is my first and (b) I made it up. There was in fact a recipe, but as I followed neither the ingredients list nor the method I think I can fairly claim this one. (Next time, I shall add pureed mushrooms, and embed whole chicken livers in the mix.)
