Westercon schedule
Jun. 28th, 2011 04:27 pmI have a plethora of panels! Am currently trying to back out of moderating one of them, on the grounds that I'm a shit moderator and the last time I tried it one of my panelists had a stand-up row with a member of the audience and stormed out halfway through. It was a long time ago, and I still blame myself. (And her. Welcome to me: I bear grudges.)
Friday, 4.00-5.30: Book View Cafe. The now-traditional panel where we try to explain to the bewildered who we are and what we do. E-books and Ursula LeGuin. That's what we do.
Saturday, 10.00-11.30: Fantasy Houses with SF Furniture in them. Magic and science intermingled, trying to explain each other.
Saturday, 11.30-13.00: The Great Red Spot: Writers' Regrets. In which we confess to our manifold sins of omission and commission. Including, in my case, agreeing to be on two consecutive panels.
Saturday, 14.30-16.00: How to Survive as an artist or writer. Badly, by and large.
Sunday, 10.00-11.30: reading! With John deChancie and Diana L Paxson! Please come. It'll help settle your breakfast.
Sunday, 14.30-1600: Fantasy and Monarchy. This may get political. I think I am the only panelist who actually lives under a monarchy.
