Well, at least it didn't get worse as the day waned: neither the hand(s) nor the wordcount. Nor the cricket (except for losing another whole session to the rain). 1645 for the day, wordwise. I wouldn't have expected that at the start.

Re: Cricket. I thought we'd won? Sent a message up to the not-very-late FIL on that understanding. Is this a new game, or have I somehow otherwise completely misunderstood?

England are 3-0 up in a four-match series, so our position is unassailable. Winning the series means that we stand first in the world rankings: also unassailable. But we do still play the fourth test. England want a 4-0 whitewash; India want a 3-1 consolation. The organisers, sponsors and TV want five days of a paying audience. Fans just want five more days of cricket...
