It's not that I'm obsessed or anything, but...

I was lying in the bath listening to 'Poetry Please' (which I expect you can hear on the BBC site's 'Listen Again' feature, I'm just too damn lethargic to link to it), and they read inter alia 'Not My Best Side' by U A Fanthorpe, which is a favourite poem by a favourite poet, and a piece that I know very well; and yet, you know how every time you encounter something good, you get something more out of it? This time through, they'd just got to the girl's bit (uh, the poem's based on Ucello's painting of St George and the Dragon, and it offers different points of view from dragon, girl and George), where it goes

He was
So nicely physical, with his claws
And lovely green skin, and that sexy tail,
And the way he looked at me,
He made me feel he was all ready to
Eat me.

- and, well, you know what I'm going to say, don't you? Just swap black fur for the green skin and you needn't change a word else, it's just Barry to the core.

And he was right there, too. He always comes to be friendly in the bathroom. Downstairs, where we could be cozy together, as often as not he's sitting the other side of the room and glowering. Or sprawled on the floor, wafting a paw at me in an open invitation to come and be bitten. Cats...

For some reason, the cats don't think I can handle being in a bathroom on my own. It's always community time.

Right now, Elsa is trying to figure out how to turn on the faucet becasue she wants to play with running water . . .if she learns how, why do I doubt she'll bother to learn how to turn it OFF as well?
