desperanceIt is little known but widely attested that the way to make me actually do something is to shove me sideways into a soft landing, as it might be the embrace of friends.
So. A while ago I wrote these books, most commonly known as the Outremer series (if you missed them, they're a sort of historical fantasy set in an analogue of the Holy Land during the time of the Crusader states), and one of the things I've been wanting to do for some time is release them as e-books through Book View Cafe.
It's the sort of thing I might just have gone on wanting to do for a long time yet, without ever actually y'know doing it; only one conversation leads to another, especially when friends get talking to each other, and an e-mail exchange a few days back led to a phone conversation today and whaddayaknow? The utterly awesome Mark Ferrari is starting to think about covers already. Six of 'em.
Which if I have covers, I'd better have books to go inside 'em: so I should probably start organising the text. Which would be easier if I could find the files, but hey. There's always scanning & OCR...
