Kitchen diary, intermittent
Aug. 19th, 2013 10:44 pmSo to nobody's surprise at all it turns out that I'm not very good at keeping up a daily record of what I do foodwise. Hey-ho.
But I did just want to record this, because I'm kinda proud of it. We had Laura Anne here overnight, and I fed her on pot-roasted brisket, and there was a big chunk left over. As it happens neither Karen nor I slept well (or much at all really) last night, and I was so tired mid-afternoon I nearly asked K to cancel the yogi dinner tonight, but of course I didn't, and I'm glad now. 'Cos I took us Chinese again, and repurposed the brisket. Turns out that leftover pot-roast makes a very good Chinese stew with anise and cinnamon and carrots (because I didn't have daikon) and soy and sugar and such. Quite authentic-seeming. *nods*
