Kitchen diary, 20/09/13
Sep. 20th, 2013 03:29 pmChaz'z lunch today was leftover zucchini frittata, with one of Seanan McGuire's mom's heirloom tomatoes and something else which I forget* because hullo, also squirrel! I might have gone the whole health-hog and made myself a salad alongside, but eating salad without Karen seems such a waste...
This afternoon I am going the whole hog hog. I had bacon in need of smoking, so I had to light up the grill: which being true, I thought I might as well fling a hunk of pork on it and call that dinner. I'm planning a sauce of garlic and rosemary and cream and spinach to go with; also potatoes - I have never yet baked a potato on the grill, so I'm going to try - and brussels sprouts, because otherwise Karen will look at me and say "No brussels sprouts?" and that would make me sad. Besides, I've never cooked sprouts on the grill either. There has to be a way...
*Bacon, of course. We observe the Rule**, in this house.
