I have made hummus, with chickpeas soaked overnight (and bicarbonate of soda added to the soaking water at 3am, because I had forgotten earlier) and roasted-sesame tahini and lime juice and ice water and garlic and olive oil and salt; and I have prepared a salad of leaves and tomatoes and feta and olives and salami, which I shall dress with olive oil and wine vinegar and pomegranate molasses (the bottle whereof is sticky; this surprises nobody hereabouts). Another day I'll serve salami and tomatoes and feta and olives separately, but today I felt inclined to dress them all together. And the newly cleaned oven is on, and will heat pita breads for me shortly, and that will be lunch.
After lunch, who knows? Maybe I'll do some work.
