desperance...Wait, what? But Kirkus never likes anything. This is known...
I'm not sure when or how if ever I am allowed to link to the whole thing, for it lurks behind a paywall; and apparently they have an excerpting policy that I have yet to wrap my head around; but Kirkus Reviews have reviewed my short story collection, Bitter Waters - and they have given it a starred review.
As, you will remember, so did so did Publishers Weekly.
The obvious money-quote from Kirkus - which I have decided that they will certainly not object to my quoting, whatever their policy actually is - says: "A fine collection that imbues fantasy, action and horror with real literary depth." I can live with that.
