...and the forecasters are holding out hope if not exactly promises for another four days to come. Whee! If I had wellingtons and a raincoat, I would totally go out there and splash in the puddles. Instead I went out in sandals and bare feet, and if I wore a hoodie it was only because m'wife made me.
In today's I-am-a-business news, I restocked the local Sunnyvale bookstore, so if anyone nearby wants copies of Being Small or Bitter Waters (and we are in gift-giving season, and they do make excellent gifts), then Leigh has them. I keep hoping to get some backlist down there too, but that would require another degree of organisation (going out to the clubhouse, largely, and seeing what I've got that's in saleable nick). That can be another day's I-am-a-business activity. Hereafter today, I am a proofreader.
(And Smashwords just pinged me to let me know they've sold a copy of Rotten Row. Yesterday's labours were not in vain! Say not the struggle naught availeth! etc)
In today's food news, Chaz'z lunch was eggs over rice with house-made kimchi on the side. He had been looking forward to that, all the way home from the library. And got home at last, and fried the rice, and took the kimchi from the fridge - and remembered that he had no eggs. And could have eaten half a dozen other things instead, but put his sandals back on and went out again and walked to Lucky's and bought eggs. Possibly relatedly, a more reasonable man might have felt that kimchi added spice enough to the meal, but he sizzled up half a ghost pepper with the eggs, largely because it was there and he could, so.
