I am smarter than 99.25% of the rest of the world.
Find out how smart you are.

Yes, I have my arrogance; and yes, this is the consequence of a perfect score. But don't go look. Half the questions are dumb or tricksy-cute, and the rest are guessable general knowledge. Also, the setters can't spell.

It's definitely intended for Americans, too. You'd be surprised at how many wouldn't know who Tony Blair was, or who would hear "the 4th of July" and think "Independence Day" instead of a calendar date.

I got one question wrong, the Paris Hilton question. For some reason I thought she had made a commercial for Marriott. Durrrr.

Now me, I hear '4th of July' and think "Oh hey, that's my half-birthday!" It always gives me a buzz of pleasure, that the whole of America celebrates with me...

Hmpf. I got one answer wrong, and I've no idea which one it is. Probably the one about the average height of the full-grown American male, which I answered at random (the lowest number).

Unless Peru is a bigger landmass than Australia. ^________^

Nah, it'll have been the height you tripped over. For once not a trick question; I went for the median, and must have been right.

When I was a lad I took the Mensa examination, and they told me I'd got an incredible score. Then I got out my A level statistics text books and looked at the distributions. Yes, the score was well outside the safety zone. Since then I've had a Marxist attitude towards clubs - Groucho was right.

I beg your pardon, my dear

But how do you get 99.25% and I get 98.05%.

I got them all right.

It's not a this-is-your-score, obviously; it's a this-is-the-percentage-of-people-like-you-who-scored-less-than-you. And as the measurable difference between you and me (apart from height, which they didn't ask about) is gender, what this means is that more of your kind scored top marks, or in other words women are smarter than men. What more can I say? (Apart from to reiterate that it's a really dumb test...)

I think it's the ratio of people who have taken the test since then who scored a perfect 25/25, because I just did, and I'm a guy, and this is what I got:
