I take it back; I think I must be legitimately sick, one way or the other. There's no other reason I can think of, for being quite this feeble. I had thought perhaps to hoover a room this morning, given that poor Ruth will have to sleep in it, but nah - too much for me.

I'm back to the sofa, me. Where my useless cats will continue to fail to nurture me, even by so little an effort as sitting on me. It's too much to ask, apparently. They have better places to sit.

Given the inclination of Oscar the Nursing Home Cat, you should probably be grateful yours are ignoring you. I personally found it quite perturbing at 3 a.m. this morning when all three upstairs cats suddenly decided they must sit on me in bed NOW. Was I about to meet my maker or had they suddenly decided that if I was awake I might be amenable to feeding them and they should therefore show me much love?

Well now, the voice of experience would certainly suggest the second option - latest theory as to my condition is that I have simply exhausted myself, explaining to the boys that no, although I have indeed come somewhere close to the kitchen, nevertheless it is not in fact fud tiem nao - but yup, I can see how that would be perturbing, post-Oscar.

And, um, you have upstairs cats and downstairs cats...?

Well, Chia rarely if ever comes upstairs because the other cats will murder her, apparently, so she is technically a downstairs cat. This is apart from the winters when she took up residence in my study and had to have her own special litter tray, etc. I am so glad she finally realised that her own personal chair in the kitchen is much nicer.

Hope it's a short lived and relatively mild plague that you have.

The juxtaposition of your post with the next one on my f'list did make me smile though:

Awww. I'm sorry that you feel awful and they aren't helping. I would send the Empress of the Universe if I could. She is an excellent tummy warmer when you feel bad.

Actually, I have kinda maligned them; I just had half an hour of Barry on my lap downstairs, and Mac is right here right now, licking my thumb as I type. Ouchie - biting now. He's a joy for ever, but not always exactly restful...

Our respects to the Empress.

There's a Nameless Bug going round here, too. I hope that you feel better soon - and that cat presence is generally beneficial.
