Apparently we now have a TV channel called Dave. All sorts of stuff occurs, largely based around the question "Why?", but it's probably best to rise above this.

Still working. Dinner soon. Not the previously mentioned Chinese yum-yum, on account of I am all out of rice; I tipped the sack over the cup and got nothing out but a trickle of rice-flour. I must leave the house tomorrow, to do rice-shopping. Tonight, I shall eat spaghetti carbonara instead: and very possibly the fancy recipe that calls for the whites of egg to be whipped separately from the yolk. Because, y'know, a man has to do these things, once in a while.

I'm almost tempted to see if I can get them to sponsor me. Their channel is called Dave. My forthcoming book stars a man called Dave. I think an author no one has ever heard of could be just what they need...

The channel used to be UKTV History which gave a nice mix of historical sagas and old BBC documentary type shows, which has now been booted to another channel and given half as much airtime.

Even I don't want to watch reruns of Question of Sport!

When we first got Sky I CMT, which of course was dropped for another endless sheikh yer bouti music channel. 57 channels and nothing on.

Of course, if they gave us REAL Dave TV . . .

I hate the way they introduced Dave and cut the hours of UKTV History. I can't work out how to tape UKTV History and so I am missing the reruns they are doing of "Tenko". I don't want to watch Dave and I don't want to have to pay to see UKTV History via cable which seems to be what they want us to do.

Apparantly it's called Dave because everyone knows at least one person called Dave. Strange stuff. Still, they play QI occasionally so I'm fine with it!
