For the birds
Mar. 1st, 2012 11:08 amHee. I was just considering a recipe for steak-and-kidney pudding, and I paused to wonder how easy it would be to get beef suet in the States. So I thought I'd ask Amazon, just as a quick ready-reference.
They don't just sell beef suet; they sell Atora, which is the brand available in every supermarket in the UK.
They list it with mealworms, sunflower seeds and other food for wild birds. Oh. Okay, then.
In other news, it's still really hard to leave behind signed books and books-by-friends. I am still trying to be ruthless.
Also, it's odd how you notice what hasn't turned up. I would dearly love to know what's happened to my Complete Stalky & Co. Because it really is the complete one, with the late stories added. You don't see that around.
