I wonder...
Apr. 18th, 2013 12:06 pmHas anybody found a gene yet for disappointing financial outcomes? (I don't want to say "bad luck with money", because I don't think luck has much to do with it. It's just a gift for going the wrong way, making the wrong choices, picking the wrong time.) If not, I think they should be looking. I am not the only one in my family who exhibits this behaviour; you could make a case that all my siblings do.
The weather's lovely, though. And I have found the easy way to cycle to the library and back. If there were a way across the railroad at Pastoria, I wouldn't have to make a left turn anywhere except at the bottom of our road. Just for fun, I did it all there and back again in one gear, as if my bike were one of those trendy gearless ones for which there is a name which I forget. This is not a tribute to my new cycly musckles so much as it is to the inordinate flatness of this burgh.
Oh, and yesterday's good news? I'm going to the Launch Pad astronomy course at Laramie, Wyoming, in July. I'm very excited about that, when I'm not very nervous and coming over all OMG-I'll-be-the-dumbest-person-there. I don't think there's a gene for astronomy, but if there were, again I ought to have it. My godfather-cousin is a Cambridge professor in the science.
