Chrissie Glazebrook
Dec. 8th, 2007 10:18 amMy old friend Chrissie Glazebrook died yesterday. She was just as funny and probably even ruder in the flesh than she was in her books, The Madolescents and Blue Spark Sisters, and we did not have, we could never have had enough of her, either in the flesh or on paper. She's another of the good ones gone. Damn it.

You are most welcome to attend and if you would like to do so, please let me [ie Kitty] know by this coming Tuesday, 11th December, so that Chrissie's neice, Denise, can organise the catering.
A memorial service will be be held in Newcastle on Thursday 10th January at the Friends Meeting House in Jesmond at 2pm, with drinks and sarnies afterwards, venue to be confirmed.
Personally, I always looked forward to seeing Chrissie at events and parties: as well as being funny and rude as you have said, she was friendly and not at all standoffish and a very sharp observer. I do hope somebody has it in hand to write an obituary for the Guardian and the Independent at the very least.
