Feb. 16th, 2008 11:19 pmThe nice folk at StarShipSofa.com have just been in touch, asking if they can make a podcast of my BSFA Award-shortlisted short story Terminal. Which has brightened my day considerably, right at the end here.
Nothing, alas, is going to brighten the cats' day now. They are betrayed, in the worst way. I roasted a chicken-leg for my tea (with a mushroom risotto, drizzled with a little truffle-oil: nom-nom-nom), and it was enormous, easily big enough for three, they were even prepared to share it with me, but I ate it all myself and wouldn't even let them have the bones and they are so outraged they have done a Cheshire-cat thing and disappeared altogether. [And what they don't know? It was one of those mysterious three-legged chickens, so the same thing - with variations - is going to occur tomorrow and the day after...]

Date: 2008-02-17 01:01 am (UTC)I, myself, am planning to blight the evening of several cats by eating a roast beef sandwich without assistance. I've also been sorting yarn while one was sleeping, and he's going to be deeply aggrieved about that.
Maybe the three-legged chicken is related to the three-legged raven on the flag of one of the ancient Korean kingdoms.
